Appearance and Behavior

At a glance, Joules is short of stature with blond hair kept in a messy half-tail, a sharp jaw, full round lips, bright blue eyes, and furrowed brows. He typically carries a loaded tool belt, as well as either a double-barreled modified shotgun, or a Garlean-inspired gunblade. His attire changes daily, ranging from casual and comfortable to more put-together and dandy depending on his mood.More often than not, he's pissed off at something or someone, but he's not completely insufferable to be around, despite his slight attitude problem. Joules is not easily intimidated, nor is he afraid of confrontation or fights worth his time. He's a lively man whose ADHD has him prone to boredom if not stimulated enough, and prefers lively conversation (and even a fight) to passive small talk. Talk to him about machinery and airships, and you won't hear the end of it. He won't shy away from drinking, smoking, flirting, or dice games.

Crusoe

Crusoe is a little droid Joules found trashed in an old airship wreck and tinkered back together a very, very long time ago. They've been companions since his adolescence.While he looks like a standard scrap metal droid, Crusoe has somewhat of a curious and helpful personality, which makes Joules wonder about the origin of his artificial intelligence, though he has never really looked into it too hard. What he does know is that Crusoe contains a mammet heart and suspects that may be the root of his almost sentient state of being.Crusoe can identify and slice into other tech, and helps Joules scavenge for parts, doing nothing short of his best every day. He can also serve as a makeshift, mini-gun turret when pressed. They're nigh inseparable, although they may bicker at times. Crusoe is easily Joules's best friend.

History

Joules was once Garlean. He won't really go into it, unless you really prod him. Even then, he still might not tell you much, if anything. The past is the past, is what he'd say, and some things are best left buried there. However, there are some who've gotten to know him that know more than what scratches below the surface.He's journeyed a long way from where he began and has climbed very far out of incredibly shitty situations, both self-imposed and not. Pissed off a lot of people, too! His heart's been broken one too many times-- usually his own undoing-- for him to be open to romantic relationships, but he hasn't closed his heart off completely when it comes to making friends, if they mesh. In spite of his unpredictable moods, Joules is headstrong and has always chosen his own path regardless of the difficulty and cards he'd been dealt in life.

Sky Pirates: Some may recognize him as a menace who roamed with a notorious cluster of sky rats.
Magitek: He can perform repairs, augmentations, or build things from scratch. The tool kit on his side makes it obvious he's an engineer of some sort.
Scavenger: Competitors and buyers might recognize him for being cutthroat when it comes to stripping places down and selling parts and materials, but he's also known for being able to track down and obtain rare and hard to get goods.
Flirt: Joules can be a sweet-talker and a bullshitter. He's had no shortage of one night stands, and never really calls back.
Garlean Expatriate: Garlean expats might recognize him after meeting him. Julian cen Aquila was a dedicated, promising young student at the Magitek Academy. One day, he just disappeared.
Bad Guy: He's a generally unpleasant person if he doesn't like you, and is a great villain for hire, within reason.
